Reaching McAfee Knob during a 41-mile trek in October 2025 to complete the Virginia Triple Crown—a challenging route linking three iconic overlooks along the Appalachian Trail: Dragon’s Tooth, McAfee Knob, and Tinker Cliffs.
Erin specializes in small-group hikes and backpacking education designed to build confidence, demystify gear and planning, and create a welcoming space for everyone—including those who may not have always felt like the backcountry was “for them.” Safety, inclusivity, and connection are central to every experience she leads.
Through LFG Hiking, Erin combines her love and respect for the outdoors with the belief that the backcountry should feel accessible, not intimidating. The goal is simple: to help more people step into nature—and feel like they truly belong there.

Erin has no shortage of interests, so there’s never a lack of conversation on a hike or backpacking trip. When she’s not on trail, she runs her long-standing graphic design business, plays competitive tennis, co-hosts a tennis podcast, and stays deeply involved in the tennis community—serving on more committees than she probably should.
